Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Edmonton.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Edmonton Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Fun review of using camera basics in the "wild." It is easy to know there are different options on the camera but easier to try when someone is there to guide you along the way.

This was a very pleasant experience. I learnt to take more time to really see a location and to use a tripod if for no other reason than to force me to slow down and think about what I am seeing. I wasn't too excited about the location or the time of day, but it was a good spot to practice skills.

    Title or Location: Golden Reflections
I was walking around in Grandin Park, hoping to find something interesting to photograph. It was around noon when I saw the reflections of the bare trees created beautiful patterns on the water. At the time, I didn't really notice the warm colors that would later emerge. It wasn't until I looked at the image on my computer that I was surprised by the golden tones hidden in the scene. With some careful adjustments, those colors came to life, transforming what had seemed like an ordinary moment

Title or Location: Smelt Brooke shore Cape Breton Island
Hiking in an out of the way location on the north east shore of Cape Breton there is a little fishing village called Smelt Brook Shore and this is a hike following the shoreline out to the sea. It was a windy day and the surf was amazing.

The Sierra Nevada is a bird photographer?s paradise. Traveling by 4x4 up the mountainside for 1 1/2 hours you are rewarded by an amazing assortment of birds. Fortunately, I turned around in time to capture this hummingbird, enjoying a sip of poinsettia!

I was over the moon from the start of shooting this shot to the final edit.It was my first time when I finally learned how to use a tracker after owning the tracker for one year. I was stunned after seeing those images. Never had a chance to shoot that long exposure, but found it was absolutely worth it.I was with my partner and friends at Pandanus on Litchfield, and definitely was thinking of shooting in a conventional style. So, I definitely wasn?t prepared. Also, the moon was going to

Title or Location: Near Goukdsboro, PA
Originally showed up at Gouldsboro State Park at sunrise to get a backlit, misty shot of the island but when I got there, NO mist, and enough boats on the lake to walk across!Quickly decided to take a backroad to another favorite spot nearby, and slammed on the brakes as I was driving over a small bridge when I looked to the right and saw THIS scene. Finding it was sheer luck, but as always, just getting out there at first light is half the battle. Made this one standing right on the bridge.
